Sex-Ed: Staying Protected During COVID-19

Currently, we are experiencing a pandemic that history has not seen before. Although we are being told to quarantine ourselves, not many are following that as a guideline. Access to safe-sex supplies is already a struggle for many people. Due to COVID-19, this struggle only increases. We as people continuously hear about keeping ourselves and our spaces clean during a pandemic, yet are rarely discussing how sexual health and intimacy fit into these conversations. So, what can sex educators do to help? The We Won't Be Silenced (WWBS) campaign will be helping during this time by delivering safe-sex supplies to folks in Rhode Island. This will be done by mailing it out or dropping it off to maintain social distancing. If you're in need, DM us @wwbscampaign on Instagram or E-Mail us at wewontbesilencedcampaign@gmail.com! World AIDS Day Event - November 20th, 2019

During the past several months, I've been on the world AIDS day planning committee here in Rhode Island. While attending meetings, the committee decided that they'd like me to speak on behalf of the We Won't Be Silenced campaign at the world AIDS day event. As I began to collect more stories that focused on destigmatizing HIV & STI's, I knew that this would be a good fit. On November 20th, 2019, I presented the campaign. Within two weeks, the campaign raised $200 in donations along with over 20 stories! (Update: the campaign currently has well over 60+). Thank you to everybody who has been donating and submitting stories. We can make change through storytelling! To donate, please visit: Go Fund Me #WWBSCAMPAIGN
